COPING SKILLS FOR ADULTS & TEENS
Life throws a lot at us and it can be hard to manage it all. There are days we can’t take anymore and just want to curl up in a ball and forget all our responsibilities for the day. Sometimes we are feeling so overwhelmed with negative emotions that they take over our whole week and we don’t know how to get it out of the funk we fell into. When we are at this point its hard to feel like there is anything we can do to make ourselves feel better and get back on track. However, that is where you are wrong. There are hundreds of coping skills adults and teens can use the second they feel themselves go down this overwhelming negative rabbit hole. With coping skills you can stop yourself from spiraling and make yourself feel at least a little better. I am not here trying to say that coping skills will make you feel like a completely different person and never have days with anxiety and the blues, but I am here to say that they do help and the more we use them the better we will cope and feel.
Below are a list of coping skills that have been widely used! I encourage you to not only try some of these when you feel stressed, sad, angry, embarrassed or any other negative emotions but to also create your own personalized list of coping skills that work for you!
